• Running since 1967, Grimshaw took over as 15th presenter in 2012.

• What are the different responsibilities of presenters and producers? Organisation, being able to manage and deal with multiple tasks, be up early to know the key structure for the days show. They need to be able to manage the guests on the show, what to talk about and be able to work well together.

• What preparation that goes into each programme? In work for 5am leave work the previous day already having an idea of what is going to happen the next day(guests, competition, what they are going to talk about). First few hours of the day will be spent looking at whats happened and trying to reflect. A flexible script is set out which they either receive on the day or find out about the day before to make it easier for them when they get in to figure out when they are going to be and at what time they will happen. Have the main show set out on one piece of paper but keeps a list of "hot food of stuff you keep under the light" - stuff that isn't necessarily the best stuff but it will get you through. Their script depends on the guest they have coming in so will change and differ through out. Joe and Fiona sit down together the day before to talk about and brief one another about the show so Fiona knows what her job should be and what role she needs to fill.

• What's most challenging and most enjoyable about working on the show? It can be challenging if you don't get on with your team/ trust them in order to make the show work out. There is an expectation to hit certain targets of stats and figures. The atmosphere and vibe of the guests change how the interviews play out so they have a level of flexibility to talk about what they want with them. They get to pick certain guests on who they want to meet and think it will be interesting to have them on. If some people are boring, giving blunt answers the guests aren't on for long then the interview will be cut short.

• What are the team dynamics like? Everyone has to get along and work together being in such a small space. Have to work really close as a team, don't really talk to eat other during the show, however they need to be able to communicate through eye contact and body language. "It is like you're a bit of a mother and father", so you are working together as a team to make sure everything works out and is alright, as well as being able to learn things from one another. Ask one another questions about what happens. Build up a relationship with the producers and members.

• How can you break into radio? You can get experience within smaller student radio shows which help you become expressive, organised and commutative. Can ask to get involved in radio stations by emailing multiple times even if being rejected the first time. You are best to get a lot of experience and practicing.

• 90%  of adults still tune into radio stations on a weekly basis.
• Live radio 71%, 16-24 29%.
• Personal digital audio 26%, streaming services 25%.
• 2015 40%+ of all reported radio listening was via a digital device.
• A second national DAB can be transmitted was switched on in March 2016 which brings 15 unique radio services.

Radio 1 is different because it helps it to introduce new music such as K-pop (BTS).

• Social media; twitter, internet helps to keep it alive. The webcam on BBC radio 1 helps keep the 16-24 target audience.
