Roland Barthes

Image result for Roland BarthesThe French theorist came up with the concept of semiotics.  Barthes' ideas explored a diverse range of fields and he influenced the development of schools of theory including structuralism, semiotics, social theory, design theory, anthropology and post-structuralism.
Semiotics is the study of meaning-making, the study of sign process and meaningful communication.
